Ever wanted to be a zombie?
Well here is your chance to scare the living daylights out of someone. Skybound Entertainment on Thursday April 24th, 2014 premieres The Walking Dead Escape at the River Center Arena in Baton Rouge. This event is a zombie obstacle course where participants may choose to either be a spectator, a walker (zombie) or a survivor.

Though season four of AMC's hit zombie drama The Walking Dead came to a screeching and record-setting halt Sunday, Baton Rouge fans of the show will be able to participate a zombie-filled experience later this month.
The Walking Dead: Escape, a real-time, obstacle course-like event, kicks off its tour Thursday, April 24, at the River Center.
To participate, those interested can buy tickets to be a spectator, a walker (zombie) or a survivor.
Survivors are trying to avoid infections from the walkers, who haunt assigned areas as brainlessly and brutally as possible. The survivor's goal is to make it through the course without any contact with the walkers as infection is spread by touch. At the end of the course, "government scientists" perform a confidential scan on the survivors, determining if he or she was infected or not.
David Isaacs, president of Skybound EXP, an arm of the comic-book publishing imprint founded by Robert Kirkman—which prominently features The Walking Dead comic—says the event is a way for fans to live out their own Walking Dead fantasy.
"What we do here is not a [race] that adds some zombies," Isaacs says. "It's an immersive experience. It's not clear what's going on, and that's intentional. There's a bit of theater quality to it. We're taking people out of their comfort zone."
The event has been piloted four times previously, twice at San Diego's Petco Park as part of Comic-Con International, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia and at New York City's U.S.S. Intrepid. At those events, Isaac says Skybound EXP learned how to up the ante before going on a full-blown tour.
"People wanted a more concentrated experience," he says. "We're packing more in a shorter distance. You get there and suddenly, you're thrust into this paramilitary world. People are scared and excited. It's compelling and visceral. It's different than you imagine. You're really in this, and that's the entire point. It's all about 'what are you going to do?'"
While planning the tour, Skybound EXP liked the idea of starting in Baton Rouge. The company started working with Louisiana Entertainment, Louisiana Economic Development, the River Center and Composite Effects—just to name a few—for an initial set up and to build an attraction that will tour across America.
"We like the idea of working in Louisiana," he says. "When we came down here, we knew that we were rolling out nearby in Houston and in Miami [later in the tour], but we wanted to start in a smaller market that still had a significant crowd. This is a fast-growing city. With everything it's got going on as well as the number of fans of the show and comic book here, Baton Rouge was high on all the scales. It's a great place to start."
