Dillard University will be holding a discussion panel at 8:30 this morning addressing measures at which Louisiana can improve the graduation rates among black and Latino males for two- and four-year degrees. The conference will be held at Dillard's Professional Schools & Sciences Building at the university campus and will end at 11.30am.
According to Walter Kimbrough; President of the university
".......men of color — tend to disengage from college life and the institutions they attend more easily than women. While there isn’t much that universities can do to counteract the societal dysfunction that surrounds many black males before they enroll, they can institute programs and policies that prevent male students from checking out"
